Card With A Traditional Scandinavian Christmas Basket

As I was a girl back home in Norway,
we every year used to make Christmas baskets
for our Christmas tree.
They were made of glossy paper in different colours.
They were cut with the scissors.
For us children this tradition was very important.
Sometimes we used to hide small surprises inside.
Also as teacher I made such baskets with my pupils.
Today I have made a little basket for this card.
I also put some small hearts around it.
Hearts also belong to the Norwegian Christmas tradition.

I used:
Double card A6, creme;
Creme paper for the mat,
Red and green scrap papers;
Embossing folder: Snowflakes (unknown),
Christmas basket die: Marianne Design;
Border punch: Martha Stewart.
For the edges: Brown distress ink an red pen.
Tool: Cuttlebug.

  1. I remember these beautiful woven hearts from previous years Liv, quite a few people used to make them to decorate their cards. The red and green paper works perfectly together, it's very festive. I like the two lines of punched hearts at the bottom of the card as well. Wonderful!
    Cheers,
    Beccy
