Christmas / Winter Gift Bag, Upcycling

For this Christmas gift bag I used:
Amazon packing paper, gesso, a word stamp and a Christmas napkin.
Martha Stewart "Lace Border" punch.
The tag is made out of a food package. I decorated it with snippets from the napkin.
Handles and bow: Coffee stained seam binding.

Mini Mini Notebook

During the last months I have made some journals and small notebooks for friends of mine.
After the journals were finished, I had lots of leftovers lying on my table.
Yesterday, as I were about to throw away some scraps of coffee stained paper,
I suddenly thought I could use them for a "mini mini notebook".
You know: Me and recycling ......
So I gathered them together and found a patterned paper, also a scrap paper from ABMTTC, for the cover.
The image on the front is from Beccy. I had printed it weeks ago to use it for a little tag.
The book is only 5,6 x 4,9 cm and has got 12 pages stapled together.
Perhaps it comes in the next journal I will make.

Junk Tag

This tag I made from a side from a pizza box, only a small stripe of cardboard.
Patterned paper (scraps) and a little piece from a book page for the background and for the little flower.
Stamp to hide the text on the cardboard.
Image: Beccy.
Flower punch: EK Success. Corner die: La-La-Land.
Silver glitter, Distress ink, paper cord.

Upcycled Tags

Here is my next upcycled tag project.

Also these ones I cut from food boxes. Tag die: Spellbinders. Image: Beccy.

Until now I always covered the colours of the boxes with gesso and a paper. This time I decided to keep the decoration of the boxes and use it as a background for the image. If this is a good idea, others have to tell me. I'm only experimenting.
I used stickles on the girl's dresses. Not easy to see on the photo.

Tags For Junk Journals

I continue my use of food boxes and other packages for tags and other projects.

Yesterday I made some tags and decorated them with an image from Beccy.
Tag die: Spellbinders.

I kept the yellow colour from the package, only tried out different colours for the edges.

Beccy's Place

Upcycling - once again.

Today I tried something that I never have done before. If I succeeded, I really don't know. Especially in my battle with the sewing machine I think the machine won. But I don't give up!
I do not know what I shall call this project. "Tag holder"? "Mini book"?

Well, this is an upcycled toilet roll tube. The outside was covered with a paper from Beccy. Her image "Peonies in a vase" belongs to that paper. The sentiment is taken from another set from Beccy.
On the inside I used a patterned paper from Sigel and two strips of the front paper to keep the  tags on their place. The tags are made with a Spellbinders tag die and have got Beccy-images. I know I should have used flowers with colours that fit better with the paper. But these two tags were the only ones I had in the right size just now.

The little book can be closed and opened with velcro. (Is that the right English word?)

Upcycled Notebook

For this little notebook I used:

Cardboard from an ice box which I first grounded with gesso. The outside (front and backside) I covered with a butterfly napkin. On the inside I glued brown pack paper. The signature has got 18 white, yellow and orange pages.
The three sentiments are from Beccy. Also the image, "fairy travels", is from her.

I made a little pocket for a tag, decorated with a cake napkin, a little piece from a book page, some yarn and flowers from my stash.
Dies: Spellbinders (Tag and Scalloped Oval), Studio Light (Butterfly) and WeR Memory Keepers Nesting Card (label on the front).
Paper for the tag: A Bit more Time To Craft.
Silver glitter, some butterfly scraps, two brads, a pink ribbon (for the closure) and two blue glass pearls for the "dingly dangly".

"Gold" glitter.

Let's squash it

Spring / Easter Notebook

My next upcycled project is a notebook.

The book has got 20 pages.

A Little Notebook With Butterflies

I am fascinated by using junk for new projects. And today I have learnt that the right word for it is "upcycling". When I write it, my computer tells me: that word doesn't exist. It will have me to write "recycling". So we are going to have some fights about that word, my computer and I, also in future. I will continue my upcycling.

For this little notebook I used a toilet roll for the outside and some coloured papers / patterned paper (brand: Sigel) for the sheets. The outside is decorated with a butterfly napkin. On some of the pages I stenciled a tiny butterfly. And a butterfly made by a die form Studio Light is hanging on the yarn. To keep the notebook closed, I fastened a blue rubber band to the front.

Christmas Tag For Rudolph Days

Today I made a Christmas tag and used a napkin for the first time! I've still got much to learn about napkin technique. So this is a sort of "try and error".  The napkin is a very old one which I've had in my stash for years.

The tag is a die cut from a food package. So this is one of my upcycling projects.

I also used a tiny piece of green scrap paper for the corner.

Tag die: Spellbinders, Corner die: La-La-Land.

"Gold" glitter glue, red ribbon, brown ink on the edges.

Tool: Cuttlebug.

Tag "Bamseklem"

During the weeks before Christmas I made many tags, using old packages. Also this one is made of "junk" and leftover papers. I love upcycling!

Tag and heart dies: Spellbinders.

Patterned papers: Sigel (marbled) and ABMTTC (Beauty Light). Red scrap paper for the hart.

Image: Beccy.

Stamps: Papirdesign (sentiment: "Bear Hug", Norwegian) and unknown (butterfly).

Stencil: Prima.

Brown distress ink, brown and silver pens, silver glitter on the hart and the butterflies. The butterfly wings I coloured with Nuvo Shimmer Powder.

Christmas Gift Tag Santa

This beautiful Santa image from Beccy looks wonderful on a Christmas gift tag. Again I used a paper box for the tag. Love recycling!

For these two Christmas gift tags I used Beccy's image "Lamb of God".

They are re-cycled. Both patterned papers: Sigel. Star punch: EK Success. Gold scrap paper, gold glitter. Tag die: Marianne Design.

More Christmas Gift Tags.

These gift tags are made of a package for night wear. Such a big package gives lots of tags! And I cannot eat ice cream all day to get materials for recycled tags! 😂

Again I used the tag die from Marianne. Both images are from Beccy. The sentiments are written on computer and roughly torn. Blue distress ink and blue pen on the blue tags, brown distress ink and green pen on the poinsettia skate tag. The patterned papers are from Sigel (marbled) and one unknown.

Christmas Gift Tags

Also these two gift tags are made from an ice cream package. With this Marianne tag die I got 7 tags from that package! The patterned paper, cut with the same die, is from Sigel. Image: Free Dearie Dolls. Sentiment (Norwegian), written on computer. Brown distress ink and red pen for the edges. Silver glitter: Snow.
Tool for die cutting: Cuttlebug.

Blue Christmas Gift Tags

I continue my recycling for gift tags.
Marianne Design tag die, Patterned Paper: Sigel. I stamped the patterned paper with blue distress ink before I die cut it with the same tag die as I used on the ice cream package. Image: Beccy. Sentiment written on Computer.
Blue pen for the edges.

On the backside there is place for a greeting or "To" and "From".

Christmas Gift Tags, Recycling

With a Marianne Design tag die I cut two tags from an ice cream package. (Once again 😄) The same I did with the marbled paper from Sigel. I glued the patterned paper on the tag. The angels are made with a punch (Heyda). Both the marbled paper and the red paper for the angels are scraps. The Christmas Greeting was written on computer and roughly torn. Brown distress ink, red pen and "gold" glitter (stars) finished the tags.
